Information Points Visitor's Centers

The Park's hospitality is expressed by a series of structures  opened to orient the visitor in discovering the territory and its particular features.

The Information Offices at the Visitor's Centers and near the  main Valley and Points of Interest are open during the periods of greatest tourist flow and staffed with qualified personnel happy to provide the latest information on various aspects of the Park (naturalistic aspects, trails, conditions of access, rules of behaviour, etc...)

The Visitor's Centers organise exhibitions, congresses, documentary archives, limited guest accommodation facilities and educational itineraries for the public in general and student groups in particular all year round under the guidance of qualified personnel.

Excursions through the Park accompanied by experts on its flora, fauna and local history are an important part of the service offered by Visitor's Centers.

The Visitor's Centers and Information Offices located in centers of human habitation and at the main entrances to the protected area provide visitors with the stimulation to seek access to the territory in the most adequate way possible, and each one regularly features special exhibits that provide greater detail on specific topics regarding the area in question.

The point of reference for Park information services is the Cimolais Visitor's Center and its introductory presentation created expressly for those visiting the protected area for the first time. The Information Office located at the entrance to nearby Val Cimoliana (Ponte Compol) lets Park visitors and trekkers gather all the information and illustrated material they need themselves.

In order to visit the Monte Toc Landslide area and obtain a clear idea of what happened, a visit is encouraged to both the Information Office located near the Vajont Dam and the permanent exhibit entitled “The Vajont Catastrophe - "Dedicated to the Memory” at the Erto Visitor's Center.

Anyone interested in learning more about animals and their relationships with humans and their environment is advised to visit the Andreis Bird life Area, which offers a bird life exhibit at the Visitor's Center and is the reference point for the recovery of birds in difficulty (the Bird Shelter).

Vegetation and Forests are amply illustrated at the Forni di Sopra and Forni di Sotto Visitor's Centers, which also present excursions for the youngest explorers (Children's trail) and interesting glimpses into the world of forestry archaeology like the Val Poschiadea Cableway.

In Claut and Tramonti di Sopra, the operators at the Information Offices (located at the respective Town Halls) are happy to inform and guide interested visitors respectively in the directions of the Dinosaur Footprints sites and along the trails most significant trails in terms of history and ethnography.
